WeeklyRevenue.com domain name is for sale

Okay, we don’t want to keep this just for ourselves here at BloggingProfits. I happened to stumble on a good domain name being auctioned on eBay.

The domain name is WeeklyRevenue.com. The seller has a 100% positive feedback, and the domain name is registered on GoDaddy.com until August 2008.

If you’re looking for a good domain name for a blog, this could be one for you. As this is being written, there is still 20 hours to go in the auction. We’re watching the auction.

Visit Auction on Ebay here (aff)

UPDATE: Auction ended with 8 bids. Sold for $52. One of the top bidders joined eBay today just to bid.

This is simply a list of interesting, useful, and amazing links related to blogging, blog monetization, traffic generation, search engine optimization, WordPress (the software we use) and all related topics to… guess what… blogging profits!

Let’s start with 10 links we found through our BlogRush widget, so as also to demonstrate whether the BlogRush widget really shows links relevant to our topics and whether these blogs also display the BlogRush widget. Found via BlogRush:

It’s Monday, the start of a new week. BloggingProfits wish you profitable days ahead!

BloggingProfits joins BlogRush

BlogRush

So I visited JohnChowDotCom this morning and he has a post about BlogRush, which is another way to get traffic to your blog.

John writes:

Let?s face it, without traffic it?s pretty hard for a blog to make any money. The more traffic you have, the more money you make. Everyone wants more traffic and we?re always looking for more ways to get it.

BlogRush provides a widget you install on your blog which flashes the latest posts on blogs related to your topics. For every page load on your blog that displays the BlogRush widget, your blog posts are displayed the same number of times on other blogs that use BlogRush — these are called syndication credits. This is the same idea behind the traffic exchange networks of old,but of course this is more “high tech.”

Described as a “Cooperative Syndication Network,” BlogRush is the brainchild of Internet entrepreneur, John Reese. Mr. Reese is the founder and CEO of Income.com.

From the About page of BlogRush:

BlogRush is a “Cooperative Syndication Network” that rewards its users for their contributions to the network — from the impressions they provide of the BlogRush Widget to the referral of other users through 10 ‘generations’ of activity and the impressions of the widget that they provide. BlogRush was designed to be incredibly viral and to provide its users with tremendous distribution leverage to receive exposure for their blog content (onto related content blogs) that they could never achieve on their own; at least without a massive advertising budget.

Related to BlogRush, Andy Roberts writes this review of BlogRush as compared with blog traffic exchange networks such as MyBlogLog and Romlet.

Another blogger, Abhiskek Tiwari, calls it a “A Pyramid Traffic Scheme For Bloggers.

BloggingProfits will install the BlogRush widget and I will post updates about our experience with BlogRush.

Google Analytics added to BloggingProfits

To better analyze traffic as we start BloggingProfits, we have decided to use Google Analytics.

Google Analytics

Feature and benefits of Google Analytics:

Google Analytics helps you find out what keywords attract your most desirable prospects, what advertising copy pulled the most responses, and what landing pages and content make the most money for you.

Google Analytics runs on Urchin software, “which analyzes traffic for one or more websites and provides accurate and easy-to-understand reports on your visitors – where they come from, how they use your site, what converts them into customers, and much more.”.

As we speak of website analytics, an interesting development is reported by DownloadSquad — Microsoft is launching its own web analytics tool.

Brad Linder says the Microsoft analytics tool codenamed Gatineau will be at least as powerful. Here is the link to request an invite to the beta.

MillionDollarHomeboy won’t leave the house until he makes $1 million

million-dollar-homeboy.jpg
If there is a MillionDollarHomepage, there’s gotta be a MillionDollarHomeboy. As the name of this blog suggests, Mark Givens asks his readers to “tag along as I use Google Adsense to make one million dollars without leaving the house.”

What’s unique about MillionDollarHomeboy is below every blog post, Mark tells us how much he earned in Google Adsense the previous day. His figures are decent enough ($2.67 on his 25th day of posting on the blog), and it’s interesting to find out when is he going to make his first million.

By doing this, Mark is doing something unique, although I can’t tell for sure if he ways the first to do this, or anybody else is doing this. I myself is new to this blogging for profit thing so I may not be too familiar with the arena (well give me a few months).

On his first blog post on August 11, he says:

Well, I have decided to make one million dollars using Google Adsense. Yeah the ads you see everywhere on the internet are going to make me one million smackers!

I have also placed a large limitation upon myself of not being able to leave the house until I have made one million dollars, so the Google Adsense program just makes a lot of sense for me. I won?t have to leave the house, and I can make some cash as well.

I am not going into this totally blind as I already have some experience with Google Adsense. I currently have six websites and all of them have little Google ads all over the place and I am making a little money with those ads, so it seems like a logical plan to make even more money now since I have attached the million dollar goal.

So, follow me to the Google Adsense hall of fame. Starting tomorrow I will begin telling everyone how to make money using Google Adsense. I am already, and you can too.

Mark says he’s not leaving his house until he makes his first million. Well he’s got to be on TV! (Hey Mark, I just gave you an idea.)

So there goes our First Featured Blog. I will try to feature at least three blogs a week, and I will start with those who are starting just like me.

It’s Darren’s birthday

Darren of ProBlogger.net celebrates his birthday with Prizes galore. The prizes were contributed by readers, and will be given away to readers.

Prizes are another way to get your blog sticky. I wonder what I can give away on BloggingProfits.

By the way, ProBlogger.net has a new design. It now looks like an online magazine or journal.

The new logo was designed by Mike Rohde from MakaluMedia.

The new logo looks more techie, and fits the magazine layout to a “T”

Just Bookmarked: 10 Forums to Make You a Better Blogger

Fred Peters of NewestOnTheNet compiles a list of “10 Forums to Make You a Better Blogger.” A must-have list of resources for starters like me.

Among those on the list, the only ones I’m aware of are Performancing, V7, and DigitalPoint. The seven others are new to me.

Kudos to Fred for putting a lot of effort in that post. The logos were eye-catching.

John Chow made $17,828 in August 2007

Here are some important highlights of John Chow’s Income Report for 2007:

  • Google Adsense now accounts only for 3% of his income, and he’s thinking of dumping Adsense, which was his main source during the early days of JohnChowDotCom.
  • He actually spent $585 for Google Adwords. In other words, a blog that’s as popular as his has to advertise. That’s a point to consider for starters.
  • He earned $4,200.00 from ReviewMe.

John Chow’s income can buy me a new car every month!

Protect your Google Adsense account with Allowed Sites

The Google Adsense program has finally introduced a feature that will surely give Adsense publishers some peace of mind: Publishers may now allow their Adsense code to show only on URLs, domains, or websites they allow.

Says the Google Blog in this post:

We’ve learned through your feedback that some AdSense publishers are concerned about potentially malicious behavior on the web, such as having their ad code stolen, to be placed on an inappropriate site. To give you more control and security concerning ad code, we’ve recently launched the Allowed Sites list.

To use this feature, log in to your Adsense account, click on the Adsense Setup Tab, then click on the “Allowed Sites” link at the far right end of the navigation. Enter the URLs of your websites or domains, and your Adsense code will not show up on other websites. [See image below]

Google says:

Sites that aren’t on your list can still display ads using your ad code; however, impressions and clicks for these sites won’t appear in your reports, advertisers won’t be charged, and you won’t receive any earnings from them.

The Google Adsense program has become the main source of revenue or monetization for most bloggers, that some malicious elements pasting Adsense codes of competitors on inappropriate websites to get them banned from Adsense.

With this new feature, Adsense publishers have more control. But I long for that day when Adsense will encrypt the Adsense code so that Publisher IDs are hidden from scammers and spammers.
